- (continued from previous page)The implements in the forge are - anvil, bellows, vice, chisels, punches, hammers, sledge - hammers, pincers, files, rasps, hack-saw, drilling-machine and bits, square, traveller rule, compass, calipers, dogs, shoeing knife, tongs, poker, and shovel.
The shoeing of horses and asses is done inside and outside the forge. Martin Fallon does not make ploughs, shovels, or spades, but he makes harrows, loys, slanes, gates, cranes, crooks, tongs, pokers, bolts, and hanging irons for gates, staples, and hooks.
George and Martin Fallon are very strong men, and quite capable of handling the heavy work which often times comes their way, such as, the heavy sledging of iron, for axles and shoeing of wheels, also lifting very heavy weights of iron.(continues on next page)
