potatoes. They are then put into a pit and sorted into three heaps, eating potatoes, seed and small ones. This was a very difficult task until a neighbours of ours' Peter Walsh invented a machine which sorts the potatoes in half the time.
The names of the potatoes which grow in this district are:- Irish Queens, British Queens, Kerr's Pink, Up-to-Dates, Epicures, Shamrocks, Flounders, Arran Banners, Aran Chief's, Kerry Blues, and Skerry Champions. Epicures come in early but Queens are the most plentiful crop. Irish Queens grow best in this district.
