   I got these cures from my mother Mrs. O'Brien Lissivane Milltown Co. Kerry.

   Whoopingcough.
   Anything got from a married pair of the same name was supposed to cure the whoopingcough.
   Colds.
   To drink the juice of boiled dandelion.
   Boils.
   To put comfrey to the boil so as to draw the matter from it.
   Burns.
   To boil the bark of elm and rub the juice to the burn.

   Erysupelas The person who had the disease used to put a red hot iron into milk three times and then he used to drink the milk. Ringworm The cure for that was to rub butter and sulphur to it and to tie a cloth around it Itch They used drink treacle and sulphur every morning
