  1. The Castle Height - The Castle
    The road from Cork to Killarney meets the Mallow road about a hundred yards to the the west of the school about a mile to the west of this there is a steep hill called the Castle Height. On the right hand side of the road stands a big tall house which people call the Castle. The lower part is like a castle, having towers and battlements. The upper part is a tall three-storeyed building.
    It was built many years ago by an ex-army officer Col. Curtayne who spent most of this time in India. He built the house after the style of Indian
