- Long ago people used to boil-turnips and then make poultices out of them which were very good for reducing swelling in horse's legs and fetlocks.
Long ago people used to pull nettles and cut them up and after boiling them they used to give the nettle water to any animal that would hve the murren.
To cure itch in animals they used to put three spoon fulls of sulphur into a bottle of train-oil. Then they used to shake the bottle well and after washing the itchy skin with hot water they rubbed on the mixture of sulphur and train-oil with a soft cloth.
To cure pigs of cramps the people near the sea used to wash them with sea water regularly.(continues on next page)- Informant
