  1. Some years ago a man of the Bradley's of the village of Cloonacool was coming home on horse-back from a dance in Cloongoonach. This place lies near the village of Aclare . He had to pass by Wellmount Lodge then owned by Robinson's, situated on the slope of the mountain about two miles from Cloonacool. On nearing the place he saw a big white cat coming down the fields towards him. He thought it was an ordinary cat but when she came nearer he saw that she was much larger than any cat he had ever seen.
