  1. No old or grown up people go barefoot in the summer around our locality. A young women who is a neighbor if ours goes barefoot every summer. When making mud turf in the summer the men who are working in the Bog have to take off their shoes and work at it barefoot.
    People the name of Meehan's goes barefoot when they are making hay. There is a shoemaker and repairer who lives in the village of Newtowngore. His name is O'Reilly and the shoemaker before him was Mc Caffrey. He, O'Reilly repairs old boots and makes new ones. The children now do not go barefoot to school but wear sandals. My brother when making hay do not go barefoot neither do any of our neighbours.
