  1. The local fairs are held on the street in Kinlough once every month.
Sometimes when the cattle are dear, the buyers do not let the farmers go to the fair. They go to the farmer's houses a day or two before the fair, and buy the cattle the farmer has to sell.
When a bargain has been made the two men strike each other's hands.
When a man sells an animal he gives luck money to the buyer.
When calves are sold ribbons are tied on their tails, sheep are marked with paint.
One great fair which all the surrounding districts look forward to is the Harvest Fair held annually in Ballyshannon in the month of September.
Cattle, potatoes, vegetables, hay and all sorts of farm produce are sold in it.
There are all kinds of amusements in it also, such as - Hobby Houses, Swing Boats, small electric motor cars and Fortune Tellers.
