  1. (I) Mr Dalby was the teacher in the old
    school in Ballincurry, and the payment
    he go was a penny from each scholar.
    (II) Under the bushes of Crann Doire, in a
    field of Love's farm, a Mr. O' Rourke
    taught during the 18th century.
    (III) In Corlackin an old shed owned by the
    Egans was utilised and this was the
    only school for miles around. The
    teacher was a native of Cloverhill, Co.
    Roscommon.
