    1. In olden days when Seumas reigned,
    and plenty crowned the land,
    A spirit was seen in Killeen's church,
    'twas called the Long Black Hand.
    2. No traveller ever passed that way
    from setting sun till dawn,
    But was by this malicious elf,
    half murdered on the bawn.
    3. The church wherein she lay was built
    by Colman son of Duach,
    'Twas three long miles from old Tyrone,
    and two short miles from Clouch.
    4. Now Clouch belonged to Andrew Lynch,
    a man of large estate;
    But yet he felt dissatisfied this
    being his sate.
    5. Ten thousand pounds he would lay down
    with thirty hides of land;
    To any knight on Irish soil who'd,
    slay the Long Black Hand.
    6. And with that too his daughter, Kate
    a maid divinely fair,
