- Some accidents of shipwrecking and burning which happened in the locality lately.
In the night of the first of February 1933 a thresher belonging to Thomas Burke, Caherlea, Corofin was burned in the garden of Martin Kearns, Pollnahalia, Caherlistrane.
A boy named Peter McCabe, Abbeytown, Caherlistrane burned a cock of hay on Joseph Qualey, Caherlistrane on the first of December 1931. The boy sat at the but of the cock one calm evening. He lighted a cigarette and when he had it smoked he threw the but at the foot of the cock. It then took fire.
