    A Story about the Fairies.

    Once upon a time a man and a lady were sitting on a seat at the "Cross of Loughshinny." They heard a lot of shouting coming up the road. The woman got afraid and ran home because she knew it was the fairies. The man hid behind a ditch because he thought they would not see him in the dark. When the fairies came up opposite to where he was hiding they left down a corpse which they were carrying. An old fairy spoke first, "Who is to carry the corpse next," he said. A
