    If you are going on a journey and meet an old woman wearing a white shawl around her head, you will have good luck for the remainder of the year if you go up and kiss her.
    If you find a horse shoe on the ground, lift it and spit upon it, turn it over and either leave it where you got it or take it and hang it up.
    If a robin flies in front of you it is a sign of good luck.
