  1. A Song - The Rampart (continued)

On the 15th of August the Rampart began

    (continued from previous page)
all for they are one Happy Bunch. Its down to the Rampart they quickly will go and they will be there when the whistle will blow.
Haste to Johnnie Rodgers he lives in the town. He thought to stop the road on his ground until he collected from his friends all around the compensation of £45. When the money he got to Glenties he went and I am quite sure not one shilling he spent for into O’Donnell’s he quickly did go saying I want a farm for I have the doe. Haste to Joe Ward he’s a man of great skill he will finish the Rampart and do it well from John Boyles of Dooey to Cornelius’s well.
When made. Francie Melley of Farrigans made this song about the wall that was built in Farrigans and Corr to keep out the sea from flooding the lowlands of this district.
