  1. We have been told by the old people that gold is supposed to be hidden in a deep hole beside the river and close to Kanturk castle. The hole is called, "Poll 'a Gcapall.
    In olden times there was a diver sent for to London. When the diver arrived in this place he dived to the bottom of this hole and found a larger box of gold, supposed to be four or five ton.
    The diver fastened chains to this large box of gold and then the chains were fastened on to six horses that were waiting to pull it to the brink.
    The men in charge of the horses shouted "Gee up." As soon as the horses
