    July 11th 1846. Eleven students from the Catholic Colleges London, were in the first division at the Matriculate examination for 1846.
    31st. An ordination in the Cathedral Tuam by Most Rev Dr. McHale assisted by Rev Messrs O Regan and Reynolds. The Rev Mr Greene, late of Dunboyne establishment, Maynooth, was promoted to deacon's orders; and on the following day, the Order of Priesthood conferred on the Rev Mr Brady.
    August 11th. The Most Rev Dr McHale confirmed at Milltown Co Galway, upwards of 400 children and Adults.
    Oct 1st -7th 1846. Rev T Mathew preached and administered the pledge at Ballinasloe, during the fair, and on the 11th of the same month he preached and administered the pledge at Loughrea, and on the 25th preached and administered the pledge at Kilgluss Co Roscommon.
    Sept 6th 1846. Solemn dedication of the new Catholic Church Kilbannon , AD Tuam under the patronage of St Benignus. The august ceremony was performed by his Grace Archbishop McHale. Rev Mr Canavan P.P. preached the cermon. Rev Thomas Mc Caffrey, aided by the Rev Gentlemen of the Tuam Cathedral, celebrated High Mass
