    the churning is gone on. The churning takes about an hour. Sometimes the churning is done by foot. When the churning is done by hand, the churn-dash is always moved upwards. The people usually know when butter is made because the churn staff is getting harder to push it up and down. Water is poured into the churn during the process in order to harden the butter.
