“There is a fort called Lisbrock situated in the townland of Carrentarriff...”
(continued from previous page)gave been built by the Danes. It is circular in shape and it is built of earth. There was only one entrance to it.
It is situated about one hundred yards from the Suck. The old people believed that a treasure was buried in this fort and that enchanted cats were guarding it.
The people who live near it do not interfere with it in any way. They do not dig or till it nor do the take away any of the soil from it. there are no bushes or trees of any kind growing on it now.- Collector
