  1. There was an old school in Feevagh, Dysart, Co. Roscommon. It was started in 1835 by a man named James Lyons. He lodged with a man called Bernard Eardly at Feevagh. The barn was quite near the site of the present school at Feevagh.
    There was no Irish taught in this said school. The parents of the pupils did not want it.
    The pupils used to pay a small sum of money weekly to the teacher, to support him.
