  1. Holy Wells
    There are two wells near here, one is near Eglish and the other near Cloncoragh.
    The one at Eglish is beside the road it has a stone like a tombstone over it.
    There is writing on it in Latin. There are steps down to it.
    Long ago a woman tried to wash clothes in it and it dried up. It is called "St. Simons Well". There is also a bush beside it.
    There is a well in Sopwell which got it's name from two nuns who were passing. They sopped their bread in this well. Hence the name "Sopwell".
