  1. There was a man named Jemmy Ma.Clery lived in Killacloghan. He was 6 ft 4 ins and lived to a very old age. He was very fond of talking about the amount of work he could do in his young days, and the simple kind of food they got in those days. "Ram me! Sir," he would say "I often made six crates of turf on three 'tares' of india stirabout in a day and never came home by the road but took my line over hedge and ditch"
    There was no talk of tea in those days.
