  1. Signs of Rain.
    (1) To see crows flying low is a sign of rain.
    (2) To her pee wits cry is a sign of rain.
    (3) When smoke of passing a train or house blows to the ground it is a sign of rain: (For it to ascend straightly is a sign of a fine day or spell of fine weather.)
    (4) Sea gulls inland are a poor sign. ie a sign of bad weather.
    (5) If the goat bleats to get home before the usual time it is the sign of oncoming rain.
    Signs of snow.
    (6) Wild ducks flying northwards denote snow.
    (7) A great stillness in the atmosphere (with cold) denotes snow.
    (8) Goat hair clouds denote wind (but) fine weather)
    (9) Rain: Weeping chimney or walls.
    (10) Rain: Sun rising red denotes rain.
    setting red denotes rain.
    (11) Sun rising too clear denotes rain.
    (12) Birds entering the out houses denotes stormy conditions approaching.
