  1. A far away brough round the moon is a near hand storm and a near hand brough is a far away storm.
    The stars shoot when it is going to rain and a dark cloud is the sign of rain.
    A rainbow at night is the shepherd's delight and a rainbow in the morning is a shepherd's warning.
    When there are streamers from the sun we may expect rain.
    When the North wind blows we shall have snow, when the West wind blows we shall have rain when the East wind blows there will be dry hard weather.
    The West wind brings the most rain to our district.
