    The disease that was on the potatoes is called blight. The people have got a cure for the blight spraying since then.
    There was plenty of food in England at that time but the Queen of England would not let it come to Ireland. She liked to hear of the Irish people dying and she mocked them. She was called the "Famine Queen". There are the remains of an old poor house in the townland of Killygorman.
