    The boy took the hare, and after travelling for some time he saw a fox. He lifted the gun to fire but the fox said "Don't shoot me, and I'll give you one of my cubs: he agreed and the fox ran off and came back with a grand young cub. The the boy, the hare, and the fox went on and after some time the boy saw a wolf. He lifted his gun to shoot but the wolf said "Don't shoot me, and I'll give you one of my little cubs: he took down his gun and the wolf ran off. She came back with a grand young wolf and then she ran away.
    The boy journeyed on, and the hare, the fox, and the wolf followed him. After some time he came to a big city and it was hung all over with black flags. The boy wondered
