    and cook it for dinner.
    At the evening meal which was about 4.3.0 o'clock they had gruel made from oaten meal.
    At supper they might have milk or black bread. If they had a meal in the open air when saving the hay it would be of potatoes and milk.
    On Ash Wednesday Spy Wednesday and Good Friday were called "black fast day" because the people fasted and did very little work.
    The made bread of water instead of milk and drank tea black. When their would be stations at a house they would have tea and a brown seed loaf.
