Long ago people of Ireland had different food from our food.

Long ago people of Ireland had different food from our food.
The principal food was oatmeal bread, wheaten bread, boxty, and culcannon. They had a drink called mead which was derived from honey.
Oatmeal porridge was generally used, especially for children and those who were not strong.
The people fished in the rivers in summer and ate pike and salmon mostly.
