- Long ago little boys and girls used to amuse themselves, by making their own toys.
The little girls would make daisy-chains to wear around their necks. When the wild rose died, they would pull the little red bulls that were left, and make necklaces out of there. They would also make rag dolls and paper dolls, and play games of Jack Stones out of blue clay.
The boys would cut the centre out of a spool, and dress the remainder to a fine top. Then they would also make little dog-carts, and draw sand in them to build little Baby-houses.
