  1. The freemen 'of Meath shall ne'er be forgetton,
Their names are recorded ni the rolls of fame,
For how they elected brave Henry Grattan,
Though dog-hearted tyrants did him defame.
To have him a member, the people assembled.
And with him, the prime of the country did join,
Oh shame in the creatures, who bravely dissembled.
When Grattan beat Billy, on the Banks of the Boyne.
You paltry usurpers and tyrants take warning,
Likewise you mean farmers that cringe to the great.
A stain to your country that auspicious morning.
When liberty called you, you shyly did wait.
The dregs of the people still fail when required
Who barter their know for interest or corn.
The spirit of freedom within them expired.
And faintly withdrew from the Banks of the Boyne.
Some are delirious to hear the disaster.
And grieve and regret when the done away.
Oh what will become of the Deacon or Pastor,
They'll take an example by Lord Castlereagh,
Too long they have lived on the fat of our nation,
Too long those vile creatures our rights did purliow,
Down with oppression and cured eutirhation
And shake off your chains on the Banks of the Boyne.
