   Many stories are told about strange things happening around lakes, especially those having forts near them.
   The townland of Crohan borders on Lough Ramor lake and on the shore of the lake facing teh townlands of Crossafehin and Carrick there is even to the present day, a very high mound of earth called the moat. The land around it now in the possession of Bernard mcEnroe was then, I believe, owned by a gentleman called Blakeney, who often let some of his land for oats crop at a certain price to local farmers. Thus a man named Kelly living in a house on the farm took a field near the moat to lough for oats. When he was ready to do so his horse died and he had to abandon the
