- Our landlord's name was Mrs. Swanzy. She lived in Newry Co. Down. Her Bailiff name was Fowler. He evicted one family in Ardvarney named Cumiskeys and they stopped in Cookesof Ardvarney. The rent was up to thirty or thirty five shillings an acer. The people used to gather butter to pay the rent and used to eat none themselves until they would have the rent paid.
