  1. There were Smiths in Mullamagavan
    who were great warriors, and they were called the Niall Cruahers, relations of the present Owen Smith.
    They fought a great battle and defeated thirty red coats in Mullamagavan rocks with "swords and daggers" in the year 1818.
    The picture of the sword and dagger is in Lower Lavey old graveyard on a tomb stone, but it is covered with moss now.
