- I rise from this bed of sleep to adore one God and to adore but him alone may I rise on the Last Day to life ever lasting.
When clothing say
O my Jesus clothe my soul with the robe of Charity and may I wear it pure and undefiled before the Judgement Seat.
When in bed say
I fold my arms in the shape of a cross and say I must die, I do not know where when or how but if I die in mortal sin I am lost for ever. My Jesus have mercy on me.
If any evil happens me may the Blessed Virgin come and waken me. O lord be the Branch O Lady be the Flower
O Sweet Jesus be at my dying hour.There are four corners on my bed there are four angels at my head. Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John, God bless this bed that I lie on, and if I die before I wake to God I give my soul to keep.
In our district when lighting a lamp we say God give us the light of Heaven.(continues on next page)
