  1. Historical Tradition.
    During the rebellion of 1798 the leader of the Wexford insurgents was Father Murphy. At his burial the insurgents were wishing for a priest. Just as they were talking a priest appeared, walking towards them.
    Some believe to this day that the priest was Father Murphy himself.
