    Potatoes are sued for household use, feeding pigs, fowl and sometimes horses.
    Starch used be made from grated potatoes.The juice was kept on a plate and put out on a dry day to whiten.
    Artificial manures are sued when growing potatoes which are not generally sprayed in this locality.
    They are pitted in fields in the winter-time.
    Presidents are best potatoes (local prates) for eating.
    Arran Banners are best for pigs
    Shamrocks are early potatoes.
