    About forthy years ago there lived in Knockboy a highly respected man who had for many years represented Rathvilly on the Ballinglass, Board of Guardians, and who vouched for the following story:-
    He said that King Art Mach Murrough in one of his forays marched with his Army through Willamstown Knockavagh and Knockboy to Downings or Spynansali the foot of the Wicklow Mountains.
