  1. Old Crafts
    There is not much old craft in the district now. Long ago the people made their own candles. They gathered the rushes in the bogs and tied them in bundles. They hung them up in the chimney to dry. When they were dry they took them down and peeled them all to one strip which they left to strengthen them. Then they used to dip them in grease such as melted
