  1. In this locality there is a custom that if a stranger comes into a house when the churning is going on, he gives a hand, because if he didn't the people would believe that he had stolen away the butter. The buttermilk is used in making bread, and some people use it to feed pigs.
    The most of the churns in this district are worked by hand.
