    young fellows who lived in the neighbourhood of Templenacrow in the County Wexford about five miles from New Ross in the direction of Ballyane, used to go to an old farmhouse which was not inhabited for some years, and used to play cards there, and in Winter would light a fire in the old hearth.
    One night at about twelve o'clock as they were playing as usual a strange gentleman, very well dressed, entered and asked to be allowed to share in the game. This did not distract them as strangers often did this. He sat down and began to play.
