    Famine Times.
    at this time the country was thickly populated, but emmigration started on a large scale. The potato crop which was the only food failed, and the people were all dying of hunger and sickness. Stirabout houses were started where the people obtained a certain amount of stirabout each day free. There was one of these houses in Kiltealy, this house is now
