  1. Griddle Bread
This is how bread was made at my home long ago. It was made every Monday and on Saturday there was a fresh cake made for Sunday.

It was made with barley meal and oaten mixed and it was generally wet with butter milk, or skim milk.
It was made on a lossad and baked on a griddle. The griddle was laid on a brand beside the fire. The brand is a thing with three legs. The bread was baked with straw which was put in under the griddle. A very big cake can be baked on a griddle.
