  1. There is an old ruined castle in this district at Moydrum. It has been left empty for about eighteen years. It is in the barony of Brawney. In 1921 it was burned by the I.R.A.
    There is a ruined castle at a place called Garrycastle outside Athlone and the place got its name from the castle.
    Near the old work-house in Athlone there are the ruins of an old Abbey.
    There is an inscribed stone on the bridge.
