  1. A Song

I'll sing the praise of Ballymore I'll sing to you to-night

I'll sing the praise of Ballymore
    I'll sing to you tonight
    First to begin at Blounagh
    Where Tommy Timbs doth dwell
    Mullaghcloe and sweet Daniel
A place that I love well
And from the hill of Raskeigh
    You could see o'er
    I'd live upon a meal a day
    Round charming Ballymore
    The view from Templepatrick
    Is charming to be seen
    The missel thrush and blackbird
    Are singing on each bough
You can hear its notes resounding below at Ulyses Mill
    Ballymacallan next in view
    And poor old Puttingham,
the places I oft crossed o'er
    And that at early dawn,
    An when going over Shinglass,
My legs being stiff and sore
After dancing all the pretty girls
    Around charming Ballymore
