  1. There are two forges in this parish. One of them is about two miles from the village of Streete and the other is one mile. The names of the blacksmiths are Mr. Fagan and Mr. Cochrane.
    Mr. Fagan's forge is situated at a cross-road and is also beside a stream.
    The roof is made of wood covered with felt. It has a square double door at one side.
    There is a big bellows for blowing the fire by a pipe under the fireplace. When the bellows is worked the fire sparkes and blazes till the iron is red hot.
    He shoes horses, asses, mules, jennets and ponies to protect their hooves from the hard road. He does not shoe cattle because they do not need shoes in a field.
    He allso puts iron rims on the wheels which work is called shoeing the wheels.
