The town land of Ballinderry is mentioned in a song about two old maids and the tale of a pig.The saying referred to the town is "Kilbeggan I dread you" The land is hilly in places very little bog land around here. It is good sandy soil. There are two woods here Correa wood and Gennan wood are about two miles north and south of the town and each about half a mile square.
