    In the bog between Taughmon Church and Farnafay the heavy chased silver bell of Taughmon Church was buried for safety by the Catholics of the district because they were informed of Cromwell's approach. Cromwell did come and quartered his troops in the church for the night.
    The exact location - a certain spot touched by the shadows of the neighbouring hills cast at a certain hour on a certain day - was handed down as a sacred secret from father to son in some families in the district. This secret has died with all of these families. The last who knew it being
