  1. Cure of the 'Chin cough'
    Get the godfather of the child to buy a red ribbon. On this he ties nine knots. Place the ribbon round the neck of the sufferer, give him a slap in the back, and within twenty four hours there won't be a whit on him.
    Catch the ass in the field and hold him by the head. Pass the patient (the child with the whooping cough) under the ass's belly three times in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost and the person will be cured.
