  1. Friday was considered a lucky day to start anything.
    It was a custom to slit the ears of calves on the first Friday after they were calves
    Saturday considered unlucky to begin anything especially house building or changing from one house to another.
    Satuday's flitting makes a short sitting.
    The first Monday of the year is known as 'hansel Monday. Anything you did on that day you will be constantly repeating during the year. Break anything on that day and you will break many things during the year. Get up late on that morning and you will rise late during the year.
    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    And Saturday no day at all
    (Said with reference to marriage)
    The first three days of April are known as days for skinning the old cow. The old cow had weathered the hardship of March and was boastful about it. So March borrowed three days from April and with added severity succeeding in killing the old cow.
