    The foregoing story was told by Bernard Conlan age 60 of Mullinavalley, Moynalty, Kells, Co. Meath to his son Patrick.
    Notes: This story is on the lips of almost everyone in this Parish but is told with a few variations.
    (i) The girl Gargan is called by a number "Gorrawog" and some say this is the old Irish for Gargan.
    (2) Some say that St Patrick threw a Holy Water Brush at her instead of shooting her.
    (3) They mostly all agree that she was a native of Carriage, Newcastle, Mullagh, Kells, Co. Meath.
