The magpies nest is made of sticks. She lays about five eggs. The pigeons nest is made of ivy branches and she lays two white eggs.
There is a story told about another bird called the crooked beck. This bird tried to pull the nails out of our Saviours hands and feet when he was dying on the cross. That is how he got the crooked beck.
Another story is told about the robin. When our Lord was dying on the Cross the robin was under it and a drop of blood fell upon his breast. Thats what gave him the red breast.
